Pastor Rench was saved while a student attending the University of Arizona, in the fall of 1971 under the ministry of J.C. Joiner, New Testament Baptist Church in Tuscon, Arizona. He was called to preach
in the fall of 1972 during a revival meeting held on the campus of Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College in San Dimas, California under the preaching of Evangelist Carl Hatch. Pastor Rench then graduated from P.C.B.B.C. with a Th.G. in 1975 and a B.A. in 1976.
While in college he served as youth pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Yorba Linda, CA. Following that, he was Associate Pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Lebanon, OR, then pastored by Charles Engwall, his father-in-law. He founded Harvest Baptist Church in Corvallis, OR, which later merged with Bible Baptist Church in Albany, OR.
In 1981 Pastor Rench accepted the call to Pastor First Baptist Church in Coburg, OR. He led the church to purchase a larger facility in Eugene, OR, whereupon the name was changed to New Testament Baptist Church. He pastored there for 6 years. Then in 1987, the Renches moved to Temecula to start the Calvary Baptist Church. The first service was May 3,1987 with 3 local people in attendance. Calvary Baptist Church organized into a local independent Baptist church in 1989.
Ryan Rench – Associate Pastor
Ryan was an infant when Calvary Baptist Church was planted and has grown up in the Temecula Valley. He graduated from Heartland Baptist Bible College in OKC, OK, in 2008 and interned at Bible Baptist Church in Stillwater, OK, until 2010, when he graduated with his Master’s degree in ministry and moved to Temecula to join the staff of Calvary Baptist Church as an associate pastor. Ryan married his wife, Jamie, in 2008. They have one son named Abe (July 2012) and two daughters: Charlotte (March 2014) and Gwen (February 2016).
Sarah Brown joined the staff of Calvary Baptist Church in May, 2015, as church secretary. She graduated from Heartland Baptist Bible College a year earlier and served in various ministries in her home church in Stillwater, OK, before moving to Temecula. Sarah was a high school student in the youth ministry of Bible Baptist Church in Stillwater, OK, while Ryan and Jamie Rench were interning and helping lead the teens.
