Periodic Reminders

Half the Old Testament is the word Remember. No, that’s not true. It’s 48%. I just rounded up. As Israel forgot, so do we. Today’s insert is a simple reminder of some of the standards we work to maintain as we sing for the Lord. My prayer is that you […]

03-08-2015 Pastor’s Note

March 8th, 2015

Coming up in just two weeks our Spring Revival with Evangelist Billy Ingram begins! Are you satisfied that you are at the place where you are fulfilling your potential and purpose in life, and are all that you ought to be? Are you experiencing consistent victory over temptations, and finding that your life is one of joy and rejoicing that transcends all circumstances? Are people in your circle of contact coming to trust in Christ for salvation from time to time? Is your life one that consistently inspires others to higher ground in their relationship to the Lord? If all that is true of you, then you are already experiencing revival, and all we need you to be there for is to encourage the rest of us! I suspect though, that precious few of us are walking on those levels that we could be, and we need revival.

It isn’t difficult to be committed to attend every meeting that will gather from Sunday March 22 at 10 a.m. to the last evening, March 25 at 7 p.m. We are praying that you will. We are praying that you’ll speak to someone else about attending also. You came to know Christ because somewhere, someone spoke to you. How about it? We have cards at the information kiosk with the details of the Revival meeting, which you can give to those you will invite.

Jim Smith seemed to feel a bit awkward about doing it, but there in the hallway of our High School, by my locker, he invited me to attend the High School Sunday School class at his church. I decided to go. It wasn’t too long hearing the preaching of Pastor Joiner that I realized I was lost, and I needed to trust the Lord as my Saviour. Over the school years I had other friends and acquaintances, Keith Broadmoor, Mike Kilpatrick, Spud Zimmerman, Richard Harding, Bill Braswell, Rick Stamper, Jack Fee, Danny Nesbit, and many others, but none of them ever spoke to me about my soul, and none ever said anything about church, except Jim Smith. If he hadn’t been willing to be a little awkward, if he hadn’t handed me a church tract that day in the hallway of Amphitheater High School in Tucson,
perhaps I’d be unsaved still. That simple invitation to the revival meeting that you hand someone may be just what God uses to bring them out of darkness, and into His marvelous light!
