AND COUNTING
The money isn’t what it’s all about, but it’s really cool to earn it! Yesterday we had our annual garage sale and sold almost a record number of goods. Thank God for giving church people who help us out every year. We’re blessed to be a part of this church and to learn from some very cool people. I love our church family and you should thank God for them.
Also, Friday night was a really encouraging time as we heard some testimonies (er… preaching?), played some fun games, and hung out at church, getting about 13 minutes of sleep that night. Craig won himself $5 as the first finder-of-Bro.-Ryan award winner (he’d BETTER have his dollar for the offering today!…), and everyone did an outstanding job working Saturday. I really mean that. Next year we’ll try to work it better so that you can have some meals and a little rest time around lunch, but we appreciate the ones who toughed it out! Even our first-time visitor worked all day!! She’s so cool! (Thanks for bringing her, Nelly.)
Wednesday was the first day to quote your Romans 8 verses (from the GODS WORD booklets), and it was very cool that three people applied themselves last week and quoted verses 1-3. If you read the chapter every day, I guarantee it will get easier and easier. Paul says over and over that to call yourself a Christian pretty much signs you up for whatever Christ wants. If you have NO desire to memorize Scripture… there’s little there to convince me that Christ is real to you. Be careful what you love in life.
I love and am thankful for all of you. Thank you for your hard work and great spirits. I hope that grows and continues to grow. I never want to be cliché, flippant, or insincere in anything that I say, and I mean it when I say I want you to make it in life. Do right. Love God more than ANYTHING else. Love others.
- Bro. Ryan

Did you bring your dollar?
Today’s the first day of our weekly offering in the Teens of Faith. Did you bring your dollar? Hopefully most of you received a letter in the mail this week about that, and a couple of you even texted me and said you’re bringing yours today… Thank you for taking the time to communicate that! I appreciate it very much, and it’s relieving and encouraging to see God working in your hearts!! If you missed last week or you want another one, feel free to grab a GIVE (not “FIVE”) booklet from off the table.
Also, if you missed on Wednesday, COME ON WEDNESDAYS! That was a subtle plug for Wednesday night attendance. We need you there for comedy night practice, but you need to be in church. On Wednesday we talked about memorizing Romans 8 this summer, and whether there’s a prize or not, there should be something in each Christian that wants to know God’s Word more and more and more and more and more and more. So grab a FOD’S GOD’S WORD booklet and be prepared to quote the first three verses by Wednesday. That’s NOT too much to ask, in my opinion. You’d have a really hard time convincing me that that’s too hard, too much, too soon, or too whatever. Don’t make excuses, don’t be lazy, and step up to the challenge. (How inspirational, Bro. Ryan. Thanks.) Sure, no prob.
C’mon… too chicken? Too scared? Can’t do it? We’ll see how many of you will!
On that note… Temecula kids… enjoy your first full week off and CONGRATULATIONS GRADUATES!! Woo hoo!! Do right (all of you, now). Love God. Love others.
-Bro. Ryan

O Lord my strength.
I will love Thee, (I will love Thee,)
O Lord my strength.
Verse 1:
The Lord is my rock and He is my strength;

So shall I be saved from my enemies.
Therefore will I give thanks unto Thee, O Lord.
Verse 2:
The Lord is my rock and He is my stay.
He hath brought me forth also in a large place:

When I get all grown up, First tech support guy, Who sneezed?!

MAN it feels like it’s been a long time since we’ve been together! 2 whole weeks! What a tragedy! But it was for good, and I hope you benefited from the revival.
Needless to say, I’ve been excited about today for a long time. I went to Heartland last week, and the whole week’s preaching was on… Biblical Preaching! I loved it! The Monday evening service was a dedication service for the brand new preaching auditorium on campus, which they named the “Biblical Preaching Center,” and Bro. Sam Davison preached the service.
I hope you never take the Bible for granted, and I hope you develop a passion for clear, true, BIBLE preaching. Don’t waste my time with motivational talks or “sharing.” For that matter, don’t waste my time by just reading one little verse and then yelling for the next hour and calling it Bible preaching.
Have you ever written someone a letter? A nice, meaningful, long letter? You put time into it and choose your words carefully. Or have you ever written a 5-page report? You have a goal in mind and you write arguments and develop thoughts throughout your paper.
The Bible is the same way, and it’s not meant to just grab a sentence here or there. It’s a letter with thoughts, and arguments, and reasons for each sentence. Bible preaching will emphasize 1) What God SAID (to them), and 2) What God is SAYING to you. Learn to discern between weak preaching, springboard preaching, and Bible preaching.
Today we get to hear from our seniors on what their plans are, what God is doing in their lives, etc. It’s a bummer to lose them in a couple months, and we want to learn all we can from them while we can. Thank the Lord for their influence and leadership. We’re not kicking them out yet, but we’re having them do this because it’s right around their graduations and we’re not swamped with summer stuff yet.
Finally, did any of you read the letter I wrote your parents on greeting guests? I was talking to a lady last week about that, and her words were “I wish somebody had pushed ME to do that when I was their age!” Teens, don’t waste your teen years on video games, relationships and YOU. Push yourself to go beyond yourself and create lots of fun, wholesome and righteous memories. I’m preaching on that very thing in church today. Listen up! We love you, —Bro. Ryan.
COME WEDNESDAY – Baptist series, comedy night practice, and something else.
TEEN WORKDAY – This Saturday, May 28
12:30-2:30 pm, Meet at the Rench Ranch (Pastor’s house) to help them get their property ready for the Memorial Day picnic. We’ll still have time afterward for Amber’s open house.
TEEN FUNDRAISER – Next Sunday, May 29 – After the evening service.
We will be serving baked ham and cheese meals to help raise money for camp. If you would like to receive part of the profits, please sign up today to bring some food for the meal and plan to stay after church to help serve and clean up. If you sign up to bring food, it needs to be here by next Sunday morning.

Now Unto the King Eternal (song 17)
Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible,
The only wise God, the only wise God,
Be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Amen. Be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
The Lord Is Good (song 4)
The Lord is good
Tell it wherever you go.
The Lord is good
Tell it that others may know;
Tell of His blessings and tell of His love,
Tell how He’s watching from heaven above:
The Lord is good
Tell it wherever you go!
Thou Art Worthy (song 2)
Thou art worthy, Thou art worthy, Thou art worthy, O Lord,

Thou hast created all things,
And for Thy pleasure they are created for Thou art worthy, O Lord.
