Today marks the start of our Christmas season—it’s a long season! Hobby Lobby already beat us to it, but we are not far behind.
Historically, we start rehearsing for a big cantata or an outdoor event (like last year), but this year, we have no such event planned for December. Christmas Day falls on a Sunday, so we will learn our new song (“The First Noel”) for the week before Christmas (12/18), and might repeat it again on Christmas Day. I do not have the exact schedule set, yet.
Meanwhile, music continues to arrive for the Feb. 2017 GIBF Meeting that our church is hosting again. We are backing off on Christmas preparations (only learning one new song and re-singing songs from last year) so that we can prepare several new arrangements of hymns that will coincide with our nightly themes: “He Hath Done All Things Well: Creation (Mon.), God’s Word (Tue.), and the Church (Wed.)” These songs are incredible, and we’ll introduce them in a few weeks.
As always, thank you for your faithfulness. Not to me, but to the Lord through your singing in choir.
