You know what… I love EVERYTHING about the Preaching Rally, but here are a few special things from this youth pastor’s heart…
- Seeing YOU serve. I love it when you are involved in things like the Preaching Rally. I love that you are willing to serve God with your youth, and I love when you give of yourself—your time, energy, strength—to serve God through serving others.
- Your excitement. The Preaching Rally would be a big bummer if YOU weren’t excited about it. I know we can get a crowd together, and we can always see other people get excited about the PR, but I love it when YOU are excited about it. I love hearing your comments about the things you liked, and I love seeing you enjoying the day. It’s a long day—no doubt—but I love that you love it. I wouldn’t want to do it if you weren’t into it.
- Your faithful preparation. Even more than the work you did yesterday, I loved how faithful you were to all the preparations ahead of time. Some of you helped with the decoration workdays. Others were involved in skits, which required several practices before and after services. Many of you were in the music groups—YA Choir, Young Ladies Group, Guy’s Trio—and you had to take a lot of time to prepare, memorize, and then sing your songs. I love that.
- God working in you. I hope you don’t treat a day like the Preaching Rally as if it was for everyone else. I was SO glad to see God working in YOU in the Preaching Rally invitations. Leading up to the PR, I was asking God to change our lives. Seriously! Whether He did or not is up to you… not Him! God spoke, and many of you responded. If God helped you change in ANY way, then the day was a success. That’s the best part.
I could gush all day about the Preaching Rally… I love everything about it. The preaching was great (isn’t Bro. Jones funny?), the music was very well done, and your serving others was encouraging to see. Now I can’t wait till next year! Love God. Love others. Do right.
