There’s Still Opportunity to Receive Forgiveness of Sins

October 1st, 2013

-bulletin note from Sunday, September 29, 2013

An article in the paper this week reported the suicide of homosexual activist Stephen Crohn.  In 1982 it was one of his male sex partners who was the first to be diagnosed and to die from the disease resulting from those licentious sex practices; the disease which became known as AIDS.  The article went on to quote Mr. Crohn as mourning over the fact that he had seen over 70 of his homosexual friends die prematurely with AIDS.

Two weeks ago a radio talk show host was interviewing people who hired themselves out to have their perverted sex acts filmed, to feed the porn industry.  Many of these people had contracted AIDS, and seemed unable to understand why.  Even that non-Christian talk show host with something like, “What did you expect, given what you were doing?!”

These people are like so many who have come to believe that they can practice what the Bible condemns, and expect no resulting consequences from their behaviors.  The Word of the Lord rings as true as ever, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” Galatians 6:7

Thanks be unto God that there is still the opportunity for any sinner to receive the forgiveness of sins and the soul’s salvation though the body may be ruined  by the ravages of sin. “For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.” Isa. 9:12 “With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever.” Ps. 136:12
