What Are We Supposed To Do With Ourselves Now?

Now that Comedy Night is done, what are we supposed to do with ourselves? We’ve been so intensely practicing that we forgot about… gaming! Oh yeah. Mafia. That’s what we can do. Thanks, Alexa. And for the lesson time, we finished up the 3 M’s and 3 A’s for men […]

Where’s Our Disability Check?

January 4th, 2015

Do you have the post-Christmas-choir blues? They’re not quite as drastic as the postpartum blues, but I’m sure they’re just as real. I’m sure of it. If our blues get too bad, I might sue the church on behalf of the choir for not giving us each our due compensation for our disability. Then again… 60% of $0 is still $0, so we wouldn’t make much money, after all. Plus, it’s your tithe that you’d be suing for, anyway.

Ok enough of that. Just for clarification, I’m kidding. We are not suing the church. And we don’t have the blues.

In fact, I’m still excited about how well the program went! It was a blessing, and “payment” enough! Great work, choir. Your enthusiasm throughout the whole program was a huge blessing, and it added to the overall impact of the night. Dynamics were phenomenal (A+), parts were great (A), and cut-offs weren’t bad (A-). Eye contact is still our nemesis (B-) and facial expressiveness was a close second (B), but overall, the focus was on the faces of the actors anyway, right? I think you got caught up in the drama and lost a little bit of focus on some of the most minor “nit-picky” points we worked on, but overall I’d say it was a raging success!

It made people cry. That was our main goal (just kidding). The main goal was to present the gospel clearly, and Pastor’s wrap-up message was direct and clear. If an unsaved person was there, he or she heard the clear gospel message and were introduced to Christ. The seed has been planted, and only God knows where it will go from here.

So, praise God for your involvement in that seed. Thank you for all your hard work. Keep it up as we head into 2015!
