The monotony of life wears on a person.
It’s strange, though. As soon as we step out and change something in our routine, we get overwhelmed and don’t like it. We end up craving the routine, so everything can get back to “normal” again. But when it’s “normal,” it also gets boring. So we want something NEW to break up the monotony!
It’s a vicious cycle.
Either way, it’s a lot of work. Sometimes it’s more exciting than at other times, but all of it is work. Singing takes effort. Showing up to practice requires commitment. Hanging in for the long-haul (some of you for years and years) is an evidence of faithfulness.
I commend you. For what it’s worth, I think you’re an incredible choir! I’m about to throw some pretty intense pieces at you again this year, and you seem… genuinely excited for it! I think you’re up to the challenge, and I appreciate that.
Thank you for all your work. I think it will make this upcoming season of new songs for Christmas and the GIBF a breeze.
And even… fun! Thank you.
