10-26-2014 Pastor’s Note

October 26th, 2014

The city of Houston recently elected their first homosexual mayor. She didn’t take very long to begin her assault on those who believe the Bible . She ordered the subpoena of all of the sermons and written communications of area pastors, threatening them with huge fines and imprisonment if they did not comply . She took this action of trampling underfoot the Constitution and the 1st amendment rights of Americans because she wanted to see if any of these pastors said anything negative about homosexuality.

In her warped world, anything of that nature must be a “hate crime .” Previous to her gestapo-like measure of threatening pastors, many of the people of Houston had been protesting their city government’s decision to allow males to enter and use female restrooms in schools and public places . Evangelist Lester Roloff once said, “It’s like the insane asylum being run by the inmates!” Happily, the reaction against this mayor’s abuse of her authority has been widespread . It is obvious such persons have no business being in positions of governmental authority when they haven’t even a rudimentary understanding of constitutional law, let alone of the common decency that any public official should show toward his constituents . Proverbs 29:2, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn .”
