A Blessing

It’s a blessing to serve. Sure, it takes work. Sure, it costs money. Sure, it causes stress. Sure, it’s hard.

But it’s a blessing. It’s rewarding. It’s worth all the work, money and stress. Serving others isn’t about what goes into it. It’s all about the blessing of what comes out of it… on both sides! Those who serve get blessed. Those who are served get blessed. It’s the polar opposite of the vicious downward spiral. It’s an invigorating, refreshing, blessing of a cycle that just gets better and better the more you do it.

We spent over $100 of our music budget to purchase today’s song. We worked on the music for that one song with half of every practice since December. You sacrificed your time and listened at home to learn your part. You agonized over which line was yours, what the rhythm was and where to cut off. You groaned when you heard the words, “Alright… now faster.”

But today it all paid off. And it was a blessing.

And it was much bigger than us, or our work, or our efforts, or our money. It was about our church being a blessing to others, without expectation of recompense. That’s a blessing.
