Periodic Reminders

Half the Old Testament is the word Remember. No, that’s not true. It’s 48%. I just rounded up. As Israel forgot, so do we. Today’s insert is a simple reminder of some of the standards we work to maintain as we sing for the Lord. My prayer is that you […]

A Good Week, All-Around

August 20th, 2017

Last week was encouraging to me. After camp, the lows of a youth pastor are the few who reject the preaching, but the highs of a youth pastor are the few who get it.

A lot fall in between–not outright rejection but also not all in–but we work on that all year. 🙂 Last week, these were our encouraging highlights.

VBS. I was thoroughly impressed with our workers–you! You took charge well, quieted the kids, played games with them, got into the money march and overall had a great serving spirit. I did not know what to expect since we have not really done anything like that with you, but when you were put in that position, you shined. Great work.

Activity. Friday’s activity was amazing. I never thought nerf wars would be so fun, and Bro. Sean and Ms. Cassi did a phenomenal job laying all the rules out, prepping the gym, thinking through the timing and running the night. That’s a LOT of work– believe me! Did you thank them?
Bro. Sutton said at camp that youth activities aren’t really normal for the rest of the world. At church, we get spoiled–we take a fun night like that for granted. Be thankful.

Conversations. Finally, I was encouraged by the good conversations we had following up camp. My gift card offer is still on the table–I WANT to spend it on you, and there’s a LOT of money on there. 🙂 Let’s go talk through how God is working on your life. My wife and I both have had great talks with people about this coming school year, and we want to encourage you in any way that we can. Let’s use Starbucks or Corner Bakery or Juice It Up or Sonic for that encouragement! 🙂

So, welcome back to church. Use today’s services to GIVE, not just take. Give God praise, glory and worship like He deserves.
Love God, love others and do right. -Bro. Ryan.
