A Need for Revival of Christians and Renewed Soul-winning Efforts

November 16th, 2012

Of the seven most repressive countries in the world, six are Muslim nations.  Open persecution of the Christians in these countries is common practice.  It is unfortunate that our President and some others in our government feel like they need to honor Islam with special recognitions of Muslim holidays and so on.  Of course, at the same time, any reference in public life to Christian holidays is something many in government seem bent on expunging.  Public Schools were made to cease having Christmas programs, Christmas parties or Christmas break.  It’s “winter break” now.  I grew up in public school taking a week off for “Easter Break.”  Even that innocuous somewhat Christian reference was too much for the new secularists, and we now have “spring break.”  The theme for the week went from honoring the Resurrection of the Lord to wild drunken sensual spring break parties.  No doubt the anti-Christian secularists are proud of the debauchery they have engendered.  Thus, it is curious isn’t it, that some who are loathe to find any mention of the Bible or of Christianity in public life, are not bothered at all by government officials bending over backward to honor Islam.  This is the case, even though wherever in the world Islam is predominant, many of the freedoms we cherish are non-existent.  The solution to America’s troubles won’t come about with the election of a new president, or with economic reform, (though I think both need to happen), but with a reviving of Christians, and a returning to renewed efforts to reach more people with the gospel of Christ.
