Periodic Reminders

Half the Old Testament is the word Remember. No, that’s not true. It’s 48%. I just rounded up. As Israel forgot, so do we. Today’s insert is a simple reminder of some of the standards we work to maintain as we sing for the Lord. My prayer is that you […]

After Revival Services…

November 25th, 2016

When the revival services are done, what do you do?

Last week, we had services with my favorite preacher of all time, Bro. Sam Davison. You may or may not have appreciated his ministry, but what we got was God’s Word, plain and simple.

Remember Sunday school? I loved the quote, “I’ve never met anyone who has grown in their walk with God by going to church only one service per week.” True!

Or Sunday morning? The wayward heart. The stony ground. Those who hear the Word and don’t really care. That was for unbelievers AND Christians. Is that YOUR heart?

Or remember Sunday evening? Or Monday? Or Tuesday or Wednesday? We learned from Zephaniah, from the Sermon on the Mount, from Paul in 2 Corinthians and on and on.

What did you change this week?

Or… are you “settled on your lees?” If you missed Wednesday, Bro. Davison preached that’s it’s easy for God’s people to forget God’s goodness, ignore His warnings and go through the everyday Christian stuff without knowing or caring what they’re doing. That’s when life starts to stink, and the “lees” needs to be stirred up to keep the juice sweet and useful.

I’m always fearful for my own walk with God to get old and boring. I have to work to keep it fresh.

You do too.

God tried to shake you up. Did you listen? What have you changed? Anything? How did you grow spiritually last week?

Or did you?

I’m not accusing you. I’m just asking. AFTER revival services, what has improved in your spiritual life?

– Bro. Ryan
