Periodic Reminders

Half the Old Testament is the word Remember. No, that’s not true. It’s 48%. I just rounded up. As Israel forgot, so do we. Today’s insert is a simple reminder of some of the standards we work to maintain as we sing for the Lord. My prayer is that you […]

BIBS Again Tonight

November 18th, 2015

Tonight, we return again to BIBS. We are only a few weeks away from actually launching into the daily Proverbs BIBS Devotional, and for a few months, our Wednesday night services will be split teaching time. The men will stay in here and discuss their week’s devotions and the ladies will head over to the Merry Hearts classroom and have their discussion with my wife (and maybe Ms. Sarah, too! I mean…someone’s got to fill in for Mrs. Jamie when she’s on maternity leave, right?).
BIBS is about Bible study, but NOT for the sake of preaching, giving a devotion, or impressing people with your Bible knowledge. BIBS is about Bible study for the purpose of life change. You’ll never be close to God without drawing nearer to Him through His Word. It’s impossible! So, BIBS is about helping you draw close to God, for the sake of drawing close to God.
Your personal devotions are personal, but the accountability that the TOF class will provide will help you grow personally. We have a lot of fun together at activities, but what about being Scripturally relevant with each other, and edifying each other? You know…like the Bible says we should do. What about helping the weaker brethren, and encouraging each other to do right.
So, dive all in. I hope last Wednesday and Sunday were a good inspiration for you to do right. Now, let’s do right!
-Bro. Ryan
