Monumental Moments In Life

I got home yesterday from preaching a 3-night rally in Colorado. I like the emphasis on kicking off the school year right—with Bible preaching! Today, I’ll be re-preaching all three sermons (not all in Sunday school!) as we think about starting the year strong. Each day is a new beginning […]

I Saw Some Impressive Teens Yesterday, But…

March 18th, 2017

I saw some impressive teens yesterday, but I’m even MORE impressed with teens who have a heart for God. The impressive teens I saw were talented musicians.

All that means is their parents bought them a violin, and they worked their tails off for years.

Poor kids.

I’ve seen some impressive academics in teens, before. Good grades, AP classes, impressive honor roll mentions. Their parents even have a bumper sticker that tells how smart their kids are.

But all that means is God gave them good memory recall for tests. Or they’re good guessers on multiple choice questions.

Part of that is impressive, but I know nothing of their character. I don’t know how these talented musicians or smart students will stand before God one day.

Ultimately, that’s all that matters, anyway.

What’s going to happen when the smartest students in your school stand before God?

What is your star athlete going to say to God on judgment day?

Who’s the best singer in your school? Or the section leader in your band? Or the funniest actor in your drama department?

Do you have a name? A face?

How is their standing before God?

I’m not diminishing people’s efforts in life. I’m just trying to help you keep MAN’s efforts in the right perspective… that ALL our talents are gifts from God, to be used for His glory.  -Bro. Ryan
