May The Lord Find Us Faithful

January 18th, 2015

Do you mean it when you sing it? I remember as a boy when Bro. Jim Wilson was our song-leader, he used to always say, “Sing it like you mean it.” It is almost cliché now, but true, nonetheless. We should sing songs as if we really mean them.

A couple months ago when Pastor mentioned to me about reminding all choir members to stay for Sunday evening church, he brought up our song for that morning (maybe “Honor God?”). I can’t remember the exact song, but he mentioned that we say (through song) that God is our Lord, but do we really sing it like we mean it?

This morning we sang a sort of prayer, “May the Lord find us faithful.” We want our lives to be guided by His Word. Every day. Life or death. Lord, I want to be faithful to you. In life or death.

“I want to be faithful to the Lord,” we sing. Do you think He’d think you are more or less faithful if you were at Saturation Saturday yesterday? Probably more. Do you think you’d be more or less faithful if you attended Sunday evening church? Of course you’d be more faithful. Find us faithful, Lord, on Facebook, in our speech, in our giving, in our soul-winning, in our love of others, in… everything.
