Periodic Reminders

Half the Old Testament is the word Remember. No, that’s not true. It’s 48%. I just rounded up. As Israel forgot, so do we. Today’s insert is a simple reminder of some of the standards we work to maintain as we sing for the Lord. My prayer is that you […]

New Activity… Rappelling!

November 25th, 2016

We just confirmed yesterday with Bro. Si that he can take us rappelling. Oh yeah.

Teens get all the fun activities.

If you’re afraid of heights… this activity will be awesome! We’ll drive all the way out to a giant boulder, climb to the top, tie a rope around our waste and fling ourselves off it. Oh, and maybe do a few push-ups for disobeying Sergeant Major Rangel, our resident U. S. Army Special Forces (Green Beret) he-man.

Yep, we’ll tie our own Swiss Seat and everything. None of these little step-in harness things. If you mess up a knot, you’re dead, buddy. It’s on you.

(Actually, this is the safest activity we do. Sergeant Major Rangel will not allow anyone to move without first being properly harnessed.)

It will be $5, and you’ll need to bring a lunch. This is NOT a mandatory or a high-pressure-“you-should-come”-come-on-come-on-it’s-the-best-thing-ever activity, and rappelling in the woods may not be your idea of fun. That is fine. The goal here is not to take tons of people (or none of us would get to DO the activity).

Coming soon (3 weeks) to a TOF near you. Sat. Oct. 29. Time TBD (it will be morning-ish).
