New Year, New Music

January 8th, 2013

Sunday, January 6, 2013

Right now we have about 7 or 8 months of music. We are starting to repeat a few songs from March and April. That’s no problem at all, but I hope to make 2013 an aggressive year for learning new music. We have several full books of music in our library that are untouched, and we have a music budget that can allow as much new music as we need.

The first songs we will tackle will be several more of those little 3-part songs from the Joysong books. You impressed me so much with how quickly you learned all those other 3-part songs around October and November (from the Triumphant Praise “rainbow” book) that now you’ve raised the bar of expectation. “Sure, Bro. Ryan. Great reward for doing well!”  We will most likely utilize a few more split practices in order to get our parts down.

Thank you for allowing yourself to be stretched this past year. We rammed through a lot of music the past few months, and you did well with keeping up the pace. Now I have to try to keep up so you don’t get bored!

If you have any questions, concerns or comments for me about choir (or anything else, for that matter), please let me know!

-Bro. Ryan
