Periodic Reminders

Half the Old Testament is the word Remember. No, that’s not true. It’s 48%. I just rounded up. As Israel forgot, so do we. Today’s insert is a simple reminder of some of the standards we work to maintain as we sing for the Lord. My prayer is that you […]

Several Weeks of Prayer

August 20th, 2017

Last week, Bro. Sean introduced Missions Prayer Nights. We won’t typically be doing them weekly, but tonight, Ben will present the people group before we have a time of prayer.

Next week, we’ll pray for camp.

Hopefully prayer doesn’t get old to you. If you do it right, it’s refreshing. It’s encouraging. It’s awesome!

I was so encouraged by last week’s prayer time. Tonight, we’ll do the same format and allow you to speak up if you want. We’ll go for as long as we need to. I’d love it if we went the WHOLE night in prayer. I’d love it if EVERYONE prayed. That would be fine! I don’t know if we will, but it would be okay with ME.

Prayer is talking to God. It’s asking. We ask for a lot of things—for God to be honored through us, for God’s help, for protection, etc. Group prayer is like personal prayer, except you’re leading the group in one unified prayer. When one person is praying, we should ALL be praying that same thing along with him or her. Our hearts are to be unified at that moment.

I don’t think we have a problem with this, so it’s just a reminder: we need the prayer time to be important enough that there’s no messing around. At all. Like, not even a little.

No snickering, no picking your nose, no sleeping… Just prayer time.

Grow up. (Preaching Rally 2017, right?) It’s time to get serious about some things. Like prayer.

Like I said… I don’t think it’s a problem. I think people were into it last week. That’s great—keep it up!

I love you all very much. Like I said on Sunday, there’s nothing you can do that would make me stop loving you. And my best life advice to you is: Love God, love others and do right.

-Bro. Ryan
