Staying With True Doctrines

November 25th, 2016

I went to West Coast’s graduation today, and Pastor Chappell preached a powerful message to the students about sticking to the same doctrines that they’ve learned all through college.

Now that I’m away from college, I see the allure of the world. I see the pressures of other ministries. I see the stress of standing for pure doctrine. I see the firm stand that is very unpopular in this world.

NOW I see why preachers preached like that when I was in college. Because they’ve been down the road and can see further than I can. NOW I get it.

I’d be wise to get it. That’s why I’m careful about my music, movies, Bible, and philosophy of ministry. I don’t have all the answers, but I’m trying to follow people that have struggled through the same questions I have. I want to learn from their wisdom.

It’s easy to think I know better than the “old timers.” But I’m a fool if I neglect their wisdom. I need them. I need to always be reminded to focus on pure doctrine.

How about you?
