The Heart of our Church Family

February 5th, 2013

-bulletin note from February 3, 2013

This month of hearts and flowers brings us to “Love Thy Neighbor” Sunday next week. We want the Lord to help us have a heart that grows in love for him, and for those who still need to hear and receive the truth of the gospel.  The heart of our church family for church planting and world missions is growing!  We finished our annual Missions emphasis month last week, with our 2013 individual Missions commitments made in the evening service.  Together, we committed more than ever before, with the total exceeding $150,000.00!  As McCracken says, “Can somebody say Amen?!”  I have already heard testimonies of some who have said they stepped out by faith to increase their giving this year, only to learn two days later that their income had increased by double what their increased commitment was!  It does not always happen that way, but it does happen that God always finds ways to return it upon us in proportions greater than our giving.  This is why I have never been timid and apologetic about encouraging Christians to give, because I have seen it over and over how God honors his promises to the faithful giver.
