Periodic Reminders

Half the Old Testament is the word Remember. No, that’s not true. It’s 48%. I just rounded up. As Israel forgot, so do we. Today’s insert is a simple reminder of some of the standards we work to maintain as we sing for the Lord. My prayer is that you […]

September 15th, 2011

Hello children! We sure missed being around you, but I’m really glad to hear that you had some great services with Bro. Ken’s preaching. I loved hearing about your getting off to school on a good, spiritual foot, and I want you to keep up that spiritual growth all year! We had a great time door-knocking yesterday, and we hope more of you can make it each week.

You don’t know what a blessing it is to hear about your spiritual growth week by week. I LOVED getting a couple encouraging “praying for you” texts last week, and it’s awesome to see you having a good testimony on Facebook and with your friends. Try a few spiritual things to help you keep that up:

  1. Carry your Bible to school.
  2. Pass out one tract per day for the next month.
  3. Post an encouraging Bible verse every week.
  4. Come to EVERY service the next month. (AM, PM, Wed.)
  5. Dump ALL bad music and replace it with good stuff. (Even the one or two albums you really like!)
  6. Remove ALL bad movies you own.
  7. Ask your friends, “Hey, I’m trying to get better about my speech and my thoughts… would you not cuss around me any more?” And then hold them to it!

I’ve tried to say often that you’re EXACTLY where you want to be spiritually. You’re as eager to learn the Bible as you want, and those of you who REALLY have the zeal will push yourself to grow. You’ll ask about books to buy, verses to memorize, and where to get tracts. You’ll find ways to serve without being asked, you’ll volunteer immediately for service, and you’ll LOOK engaged in the services at church. (By the way, each of these things have been done by one or two people, but what about you?)

All I’m saying is, love God, love others, and choose to do right.
