Periodic Reminders

Half the Old Testament is the word Remember. No, that’s not true. It’s 48%. I just rounded up. As Israel forgot, so do we. Today’s insert is a simple reminder of some of the standards we work to maintain as we sing for the Lord. My prayer is that you […]

Summer

Don’t you love that word?

Summer break. No school.

Don’t take a break from church! In fact, the summer is always an awesome time for the TOF because we get to hang out that much more. You won’t hear “It’s a school night” for a few more months.

I hope you dedicate your summer to God today. Determine now to grow in the Lord and serve Him better this break. Don’t miss church. Don’t miss youth activities. Come to everything. Be involved. Be a blessing.

Take a step back and look at your new “position” in the teens of faith. The seniors are leaving us soon. Everyone’s a year older. We’ll be getting a few new members in our class as the 6th graders graduate in. You who are the youngest now… not for long! And that means everyone reading this will have a new job… you’ll either create a good example or a bad one. Good examples are the ones who are a blessing, the ones who are welcoming, and the ones who take others under your wing and help them. Teach them the “unwritten rules.” Help them understand some things. LOVE them!

Bad examples are the opposite. They don’t care about anyone but themselves. They set a bad tone. They don’t care about influencing everyone, and they thing that by keeping to themselves they’re fine… wrong! No one is neutral… you’re either a good influence or a bad one. A bad influence might mean that you’re a reprobate… but that’s probably not you. More likely, you’ll be a bad influence simply by not choosing to be a blessing. By just sitting there and not caring about anyone else, you’re a bad influence.

I stress over and over… love God, love others, do right. “Well, I love God, but I just hate annoying people!” God calls you a liar! If you hate anyone, according to 1 John 4, you’re a liar! That’s not MY words… that’s God’s! So love everyone.

Love God. Love others. Do right. I sure love you!
