April 22nd, 2012

We started last week on John 15. How far are you?

Got your 2 verses down this week?

At 2 verses per week, since we’re starting earlier this year, you can finish the chapter and quote the whole thing by the second week in August. Sounds easy, right?

I would love for everyone to do the whole chapter. Even easier… for everyone here… I’d love to see you do at least verses 1-17. That’s barely over a verse a week… and some of the verses are really short.

This whole text is amazing. Abiding in the vine is the only way to bear fruit. Or… like the song says… “There’s a grape on the leaf, and the leaf on the branch, and the branch on the vine, and the vine on the root, and the root in the hole, and the hole in the ground…” God’s the vine (the trunk). We’re the branches. We can’t bear fruit without being connected to Him.

How? Though His Word. That’s what the text says. I’m not twisting this and making it fit into our Bible Study series! It’s just that pretty much everything about the spiritual life boils down to… the Bible!

Love it and live it.
