Periodic Reminders

Half the Old Testament is the word Remember. No, that’s not true. It’s 48%. I just rounded up. As Israel forgot, so do we. Today’s insert is a simple reminder of some of the standards we work to maintain as we sing for the Lord. My prayer is that you […]

Tomorrow

I can’t wait until tomorrow.

Youth Winter Rendezvous!! Finally!

For those of you going, I hope you are looking for not only a good time but a challenging time as well. God did a really neat work in our group last year at the Rendezvous, and we’re not trying to manipulate God in any way, but we want to do everything that we can in order to prepare for the Rendezvous so God can work again. I hope you’ve been praying for this trip. If not, it’s too late to go back now… but pray tonight! And tomorrow! PRAY!

God wants you to know His will. He wants to reveal Himself, but He won’t force Himself on you. The Christian walk is YOUR choice. It’s YOUR call whether you’ll be close to God. You’re as close to Him as you want to be.

Some of the best memories I have of trips like this are when we could just sit around and talk. I loved having fun, and I loved the snow and all that, but this trip is for you to grow spiritually… not just spend $125 to go play. I hope you’re ready to grow in the Lord this week.

Thank you for being a blessing. When I’m around other youth groups, I’m so proud so be part of ours… know what I mean? I like the other groups and all, but I’d sure rather be with you any day.

Have a spirit to serve this week. Have a giving spirit this week. Have a righteous spirit.

  • Give your seat up to someone else
  • Guard your thoughts.
  • Guard your actions.
  • Guard your tongue.
  • Guard your anger. (CLOSE your mouth. Shut up.)
  • Speak up for righteousness. (OPEN your mouth. Speak up.)
  • Call people out for sin.
  • Be encouraging. (USE your mouth)
  • Compliment someone
  • Tell the other youth pastors “thank you” for their work
  • Say something kind on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

A gloomy Christian stinks. A happy Christian is contagious! Be a happy Christian during the games, the preaching, the hang-out time, the free time, the room devotions, and even when it’s time for bed. J Love God. Love others. Do right.
