Periodic Reminders

Half the Old Testament is the word Remember. No, that’s not true. It’s 48%. I just rounded up. As Israel forgot, so do we. Today’s insert is a simple reminder of some of the standards we work to maintain as we sing for the Lord. My prayer is that you […]

Be Our Guest Refresher

For those who don’t know, we ripped off Disney and introduced a program called “Be Our Guest.”

What we want to do as the Teens of Faith is make sure everyone is welcomed in our class. We have lots of ways for lots of people to be involved, and right now we have some Greeters, some Welcomers, some Postcarders, and some Visitors.

EVERYONE. If you weren’t here for the signups, there’s still a job for you! Everyone’s job is to greet others, particulalry our guests. If a guest walks into class, everyone immediately stops what they’re doing, goes over to the guest (forms a line if need be!), and introduces himself or herself.

You might think, “I’m new to this class.” Well, now there’s someone newer! You can go be friendly too! Everyone greets every guest.

GREETERS. Several people signed up to be greeters, and it takes another level of commitment beyond simply welcoming the guest.

  • Greet them. Welcome them to our class. Talk with them. Get their school, class, city, etc.
  • Seat them. Not right away! (“Hey. Welcome. Sit down!”) But make sure they have a seat by a greeter. If a greeter has to move someone from his usual seat, 1. give them a tissue, 2. tell them to stop crying, and 3. have them move.
  • Continue with them. Stay with them through class. Share your Bible. Tell them what’s after class. Show them to the sanctuary. Have them sit with you in church or help find their parents.

WECOMERS. This one’s easy. If they fill out the guest card and have a cell phone, text them on Sunday afternoon.

POSTCARDERS. This one’s easy too. If they put their address, send them a TOF postcard. I’ve even worded some of it for you!

VISITORS. If you can, come with me to visit a guest. It’s one thing to get a visit from the youth pastor, but it’s another thing to see that fellow teens care too.

EVERYONE. Come! Come to class. Come early to class. Be friendly! Don’t just go right to your seat. Welcome people, especially people who haven’t been coming as long as you! Love God… Love OTHERS. That’s what it’s all about.

-Bro. Ryan

I AM SORRY – I’m sorry I didn’t have the times on the sheet last week for Thursday night when I thought I did (and like I told you I did.) I felt badly for directing you there when it was not printed correctly. My fault.

CARNIVAL SUNDAY – Please see the table to sign up to help.

Meet in the fellowship hall at 9:45 am. Because my wife and I have to leave early, there will be no lunch provided (sometimes we do, sometimes we don’t.) However, possibly July 7 we’ll go door-knocking and then come back to church for some pizza ($2 if you’ve got it.) The pizza depends on Abe. Maybe he’ll want to come early for some. Pig.

Please pay Bro. Ryan or Mrs. Jamie.  To know how much you owe, see the sheet on Bro. Ryan’s office door.

This will be at the McCreary’s house. The bus will leave the church right after the evening service and will return about 1 hr. after the close of the service. Ice cream!!

NEW WEBSITE! Visit TeensOfFaith.org to see some pictures, read the announcements, and read the weekly notes. Thank you Alisha for doing the announcements and Daniel for still loading the notes!
