Periodic Reminders

Half the Old Testament is the word Remember. No, that’s not true. It’s 48%. I just rounded up. As Israel forgot, so do we. Today’s insert is a simple reminder of some of the standards we work to maintain as we sing for the Lord. My prayer is that you […]

October 29th, 2011

Sunday was a little heavy.

I don’t mean we had a roomful or 400-pound sumo wrestling fatties (we only had one or two of those)… I mean the lesson was heavy.

Sovereignty?! God controls everything but he doesn’t control everything?! What?! He doesn’t control my choices?! What?! How?!

He’s God.

If you walked away from Sunday thinking, “I know one thing… God’s WAY bigger than me!” you got a lot right.

Tonight it’s a little easier. We’re back to notebooks that you can draw pictures take notes in. As we’re working through our Bible Study Series, it helps to know that you have a Bible that’s really real. It’s not made up. There is a God and He wrote the Bible. It’s amazingly deep. And it’s written for you.

I dug through pages of notes, websites, books and more books, and have copied out some of the stuff that would fit in your booklet. Before we get into the “how” of reading and studying your Bible, I wanted to check out the “why,” and, “is it for real?”

I hope tonight we’re a little lighter than Sunday. At least I hope your faces show it a little better!

Love God. Love others. Do right.

Bro. Ryan
