What Are We Supposed To Do With Ourselves Now?

Now that Comedy Night is done, what are we supposed to do with ourselves? We’ve been so intensely practicing that we forgot about… gaming! Oh yeah. Mafia. That’s what we can do. Thanks, Alexa. And for the lesson time, we finished up the 3 M’s and 3 A’s for men […]

The wise Gru says, “Why are you so OLD?” on our invitation cards.

Have you ever wondered that about the Bible? It’s okay if you have… I have!

God, what good is the Bible today? It’s so OLD! It doesn’t make sense! I’m confused.

You’re not a terrible person if you don’t understand the Bible… you’re normal. It was written in a whole different language! It was written to people WAY different from us. It was written to people with WAY different problems than we have.

No. Scratch that last sentence. Because the problems THEY faced in the Bible are the same problems WE face today. No, they didn’t have the drug problems in their public schools, they didn’t have the media distracting people from their life’s purpose, they didn’t have the internet at their fingertips on their cell phones… but they did face sin, and God did provide a way out: salvation.

The Bible TRUTH is the same yesterday, today, and forever, because Jesus is the same. The APPLICATION might be different today, but the TRUTH is the same, and it will never change.

I hope this Bible Study series can be a blessing. I ran into one teen yesterday during doorknocking and left the family with an invitation card. Today I’ll begin the series with a foundational thought on what we believe about preaching the Word. I hope it’s a blessing as we begin what I think will be one of the most helpful series yet. If you can learn to grow yourself through God’s Word, that removes a lot of the need for the ups and downs of the Christian life.

Do right. Love God. Love others. We love you!

Bro. Ryan

Try to greet EVERY PERSON in the room today.

Loading a moving truck for a single lady church member.

Maybe only a few guys needed from 12:30 – 3 pm. (Still finding out details.)

We want to see EVERY available person out at 9:45 am to help us go out into the harvest.

Dr. John Goetsch will be preaching in Sunday school, Sunday morning and Sunday evening services. We’ll meet in the sanctuary for Sunday school.  You’ll have all day to greet him and make him feel welcomed.

This will be at Pastor’s house.  Bring a can of veggies for hobo stew.
