Two Weeks Off

December 18th, 2012

Saturday, December 15, 2012

You’ve earned it.

We will not have choir practice the next two Sundays. Tomorrow will be the Cantata and next week will be Cantata hangover, so we’ll still need to take that week off too.

However it’s back to work on the 30th. Hey, if this is work, count me in! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed these Cantata practices, and I think the whole sound of the choir has matured over this process of singing the same songs week by week. There is tremendous value in really learning songs well rather than just getting by (compare our recent Sunday songs to our Cantata songs!)

Thank you for adding to an already wonderful Christmas season. I love this time of year and I love that we can sing not only of Christ’s birth but of His love. Keep your mind engaged today in practice and tomorrow as we sing. Remember what Bro. Rea said at the workshop? Wake up your imagination and convey what the composer had in mind… the thoughts of the music, not just the right notes.

One more day!

-Bro. Ryan
